Feature Video: Backstage with Hands Like Houses

Feature Video: Follow Hands like Houses at the last Live In Ya Lounge show.

Live In Ya Lounge became an institution in Canberra through this pandemic and last week (Aug 29)  saw the final instalment go to air. Mustard Flats were backstage with Hands Like Houses, Sputnik Sweetheart and Aya Yves to cover the night.

Hands Like Houses opened the show in March at the height of lockdown sparking the idea for a regular live music stream, it’s only fitting they closed it too.

LIYL was a project of passion for Rob Cartwright from Event AV Services (EAVS) keen to keep their staff in jobs during a time when all live events were cancelled. After producing 5 months of shows with over 60 local act they are calling time on the massive production.

LIYL host Lexi Sekuless holds hope that some of the innovations and inventions that came from the show will continue to have an impact on arts in Canberra well after the show and COVID pass.

The stage saw Canberra’s finest Citizen Kay, Kirrah Amosa, Jake Bilmann, Lucy Sugerman, Kirklandd and Neko Pink to name a few.

Here’s to LIYL
